THE DOCTOR WHO MUSICAL
ACT lll
'Rose soon grew attached to this new Doctor. They became a
couple and for a while, it seemed they would never be separated,’ River said,
once again stood at the front of the stage.’ That was until the parallel
universe Cybermen invaded our universe in the disguise of ghosts. Rose gave her
life in this universe to sending the Daleks and Cybermen into the void but the
force of the void was too strong and Rose found herself separated from the
Doctor forever in a parallel universe. Safe from the Doctor’s constant
companion Death but away from the man she loved,’
The 10th Doctor and Rose stood at opposite ends of a wall
prop.
ROSE (Placing the palm of her hand on the wall)
There was a time when the Doctor was there
When his voice was northern
And his TARDIS inviting
There was a time when travelling was life
And the universe was a theme park
And the theme park was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong
THE DOCTOR (Placing the palm of his hand on the wall)
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When Rose was here
And life worth living
I dreamed that Rose would never leave my side
I dreamed that the universe would be understanding
Back I was young and unafraid
And Susan was aboard the TARDIS, screaming and shouting
There was no romance that could end
No girlfriend aboard, no Cybermen to ruin everything
But the Cybermen came on this day
With their voices as emotionless as autotuned singers
With the Daleks, they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame ROSE
He travelled around with me by his side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my love in his stride
But he was gone when the Cybermen came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will travel the universe together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are bad wolf messages we cannot use to be together
DOCTOR AND ROSE
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now the Cybermen have killed the dream I dreamed. (26) Rose exited the stage as the Doctor bent down to his knees
burst into tears. The stage went dark. A spotlight came up as River walked in
front of the now-drawn red curtains.
‘Little did he know that soon he’d have a whole new romantic love life coming his way. But that’s a spoiler for now, sweeties. His next companion was Martha, a Doctor from Royal Hope hospital. It was during his time with Martha that he began to realise it wasn’t a relationship he wanted but a mate. And who better to fulfil that than Donna Noble.

The curtains were drawn back as an actor playing Donna
walked on-stage towards the Doctor, who was stood by a TARDIS prop, carrying a
large pile of bags.
‘Donna, are you quite sure you have enough bags?’ the Doctor asked uneasily.
‘You can never have enough when it comes to travelling with you,’ Donna remarked. ‘I’m prepared for anything. Planet of the hats, Jedward World, Lady GaGa’s dressing room. I think the raw meat outfit would suit you. So shut it, Martian boy!’
‘I’m not from Mars. I’m from Gallifrey. GALLIFREY,’ Corrected the Doctor.
‘What’s that? An intergalactic space cow?’
‘What’s Chiswick? An Earthly shopping centre? Mind you, I like a good shopping centre. Well, apart from Brunswick. That’s a bit rubbish. And Princess Quay isn’t even owned by Princess Quay. I met her on the planet Larce one. Nice personality, albeit a bit posh. You wouldn’t like her,’
‘Doctor, you’re rambling,’ Donna interrupted, rolling her eyes.
‘Am I? I really must stop that. Although it’s good to have a nice ramble. Rambles are good,’
‘Just shut it, spaceman, and help me get these bags in!’
The Doctor dragged the bags into the TARDIS and stepped back outside.
‘Look, Donna. I just want a mate,’ he said.
‘You just want to mate?’ Donna asked, shooting the Doctor an offended look.
‘No, I want a mate. A MATE,’
‘Well, you’re not mating with me, Sunshine!’
DONNA sang:
I didn’t want to travel with you when we last met
Now my life I see as eternal boredom
And I'm laying the rules here, you’re not going to get a
word in once or twice
You know I once thought that Lance was my only life
But now it isn't true
Although everything isn’t about you
I've learned
adventure is not a curse
I beg of you...
Don't go wasting your emotion
Don’t lay your love on me
It was like shooting a sitting duck
A little job here, a life and a fiancé I was stuck
I still don't know why he did that to me
A grown-up woman should never fall so easily
I felt a kind of fear
That I’d never find you here
Unsatisfied, I hated my life
I beg you dear...
Don't go wasting your emotion
Don’t lay your love on me
Don't go showing any devotion
Don’t lay your love on me I've made a few little mistakes
They didn't last very long although they haven’t exactly
been scarce
I used to think they were sensible
It makes the truth even more incomprehensible
Although not everything is about you
I’m ready to travel
I've learned adventure is not a curse
It’s something that I can actually do...
Don't go wasting your emotion
Don’t lay all your love on me
Don't go showing any devotion
Don’t lay all your love on me (27) Realizing she had stopped singing, the Doctor took his
fingers out of his ears and moaned, ‘Donna, please, never sing again,’
